Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Derek Blueboy (ranked 2220 p4p, 3845 weight class) and Donovan Griggs (ranked 222 p4p, 347 weight class). Griggs has chosen Can't Be Touched- Roy Jones Jr. as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Blueboy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donovan Griggs!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blueboy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Griggs counters with a straight right hand.
Blueboy drives through and clinches with Griggs against the cage.

Blueboy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Griggs walks away with a smile on his face. Blueboy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Blueboy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Griggs tries to avoid it but Blueboy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Griggs to the ground. Griggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derek Blueboy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griggs closes the distance and pushes Blueboy back into the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Griggs stops a takedown attempt from Blueboy.
Oh Blueboy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blueboy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blueboy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Blueboy seems to have got his legs back now.
Griggs stands up and waves to Blueboy to follow him.
Blueboy drives through with a takedown into guard.
Griggs wants to get back to his feet but Blueboy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Blueboy is pushing down on Griggs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Griggs is fighting to maintain full guard but Blueboy has managed to sneak the leg through.

Blueboy tries to clinch up but Griggs pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Blueboy to the mat! Blueboy covers up and Griggs unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

After the fight, Donovan Griggs was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
