Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randy Rebar (ranked 5269 p4p, 3853 weight class) and Kelton Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Rebar looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Rebar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kelton Kong!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rebar gets a clinch.
Kong keeps control of Rebar as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kong can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rebar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kong is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kong is trying to hold Rebar in close to prevent damage but Rebar has managed to pass into half guard.

Kong has his foot on Rebar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rebar works his way back into a safe position though.

Kong has hold of Rebar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rebar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kong is looking to take a break and control but Rebar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kong is still trying to improve position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rebar avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kong.

A close round but Kelton Kong will probably get the nod.

Kong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rebar takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Rebar is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kong gets his way!

Kong is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rebar knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rebar for a finish.

Kong shoots in looking for a takedown. Rebar tries to sprawl out of it but Kong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rebar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And Rebar counters with a quick kick to the body but Kong blocks it.

Kong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rebar sprawls well. Rebar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kong gets slowly back to his feet.
A left and a right from Rebar both land. Nice combination.
Kelton Kong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rebar sprawls well. Rebar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kong gets slowly back to his feet.

Kong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rebar tries to avoid it but Kong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rebar to the ground. Rebar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kong checks a leg kick.

Kelton Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Rebar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kong or perhaps it was just good defense by Rebar, which made it look bad.

As Kong looks to move away, Rebar throws a big counter combo but Kong just gets out of the way.
