Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hideyoshi Yamasaki (ranked 1260 p4p, 1102 weight class) and Raine Rockford (ranked 129 p4p, 110 weight class). Yamasaki comes to the cage accompanied by 2Pac - Only God Can Judge Me. Hideyoshi Yamasaki has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hideyoshi Yamasaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raine Rockford! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockford fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Yamasaki takes a swing at Rockford's ribcage but misses. Rockford fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Rockford connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. The fight moves into the clinch position. Rockford looking for a takedown. Rockford wants a takedown.
Yamasaki avoiding damage.
Rockford is trying to drag Yamasaki to the mat but Yamasaki just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hideyoshi Yamasaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raine Rockford. Yamasaki tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rockford's elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rockford tries to pull guard but Yamasaki forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Yamasaki prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rockford goes for a takedown in the clinch but Yamasaki prevents it.
Rockford is working for takedown but Yamasaki is calmly controlling the position for now. Rockford is trying to pull guard but Yamasaki has him pressed against the cage. Rockford has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yamasaki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rockford decides to pull guard. Rockford wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Rockford looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Yamasaki is looking to work some ground and pound but Rockford has wrist control. Rockford wants to sweep here but Yamasaki controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rockford utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rockford looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yamasaki is one step ahead there. Yamasaki throwing strikes but missing. Rockford controls Yamasaki momentarily but Yamasaki frees himself. Rockford is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rockford holds on and takes a little breather.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamasaki postures up.
Yamasaki throws a strike but Rockford rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Yamasaki is trying to control the position but Rockford postures up. Rockford is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rockford wants to control from the top but Yamasaki keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rockford postures up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Yamasaki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rockford on the ground.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Rockford wants to clinch. Rockford darts in and clinches Yamasaki up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rockford jumps guard and drags Yamasaki to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Rockford is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Yamasaki defends well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Raine Rockford dominated that round. That's time! Yamasaki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Yamasaki rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rockford counters by moving into the clinch. Rockford is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Rockford fails to pull guard.
Rockford tries for a takedown but Yamasaki manages to get underhooks.

Rockford pulls guard. Yamasaki loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rockford is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rockford has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamasaki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Yamasaki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rockford is trying to keep Yamasaki in close.
Rockford is pulling down on Yamasaki's head. It's preventing any offense from Yamasaki, at least for the moment. Yamasaki is looking to stand up but Rockford won't let him. Yamasaki prevents Rockford from getting back to his feet. Yamasaki missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rockford lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rockford passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Rockford is just content to waste time from the top position. Yamasaki takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yamasaki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rockford looking to pass the guard. Yamasaki tries to land a sweep but no joy. Raine Rockford has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamasaki is working hard here to advance position. Rockford pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yamasaki is keeping the position for now. Rockford trying to stand up but can't free himself from Yamasaki's guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A jab from Yamasaki does it's job there. Yamasaki throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A telegraphed right hand from Yamasaki misses the target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rockford looks to throw the jab but Yamasaki is out of range. It looked like Yamasaki was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Yamasaki throws a body shot but no joy. Yamasaki throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Rockford defending well as Yamasaki loads up on a big left hand. Yamasaki blocks a jab. Yamasaki throws a shot from downtown. Rockford moves away and avoids it. Rockford throws a fast counter high kick but Yamasaki manages to duck under it in time. Yamasaki misses with the combination.
Hideyoshi Yamasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rockford moves out of range as Yamasaki strikes. A little jabbing left from Rockford on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A looping hook to the body misses from Rockford. Yamasaki does a little dance to reset his feet. Rockford throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Yamasaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rockford circles away quickly and effectively. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Yamasaki moves out of range of the leg kick from Rockford. Yamasaki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rockford. Yamasaki looks to land a right hand but Rockford moved out of range. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hideyoshi Yamasaki will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! A looping hook to the body misses from Rockford. Yamasaki does a little dance to reset his feet. Hideyoshi Yamasaki is winning the standup battle so far. Rockford moves out of range as Yamasaki strikes. Yamasaki misses with a hook
and Rockford counters with a nice uppercut. Yamasaki sizes up Rockford with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A head kick from Rockford lands but Yamasaki takes it in his stride. Rockford throws a head kick that misses and Yamasaki counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rockford's jab looks to have found its range, popping Yamasaki under the eye.
Yamasaki is rocked! Rockford shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Yamasaki takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Rockford sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Yamasaki bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

A very excited looking Raine Rockford made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
