Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lanion Mauricio (ranked 2040 p4p, 4961 weight class) and Jah Nino (ranked 288 p4p, 550 weight class). Jah Nino will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lanion Mauricio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jah Nino! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mauricio clinches with his opponent.
Mauricio is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Nino is defending well. Nino misses with a body punch.
Mauricio tries to land a knee to the head but Nino blocks with his arms.
Mauricio has Nino pushed against the cage. Nino lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Mauricio has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nino uses from the top position. Mauricio wants to improve his position but instead Nino has moved into half guard.
Mauricio is looking for a sweep. Nino is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nino is stalling here. Mauricio is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nino seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mauricio has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Mauricio wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nino, who protects the arm well. We've been hearing good reports from Mauricio's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Nino bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Lanion Mauricio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mauricio moves into the clinch. Nino breaks the clinch.
Mauricio ducks right into an uppercut from Nino. Mauricio closes the distance but Nino moves to the side and Nino counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Lanion Mauricio has been cut. Nino forces Mauricio back against the cage and clinches. Mauricio pulls Nino into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nino throwing strikes from guard but Mauricio blocks nicely. Nino must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mauricio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mauricio is working for a kimura but Nino is defending it quite comfortably.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mauricio thows a huge punch but Nino dodges it nicely.
Mauricio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nino blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mauricio. Nino regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mauricio. Nino keeping moving, preventing Mauricio from controlling successfully. Mauricio postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mauricio has gone for a leg lock! Nino slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mauricio's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nino stopping the sweep attempt from Mauricio. Mauricio is looking for a triangle but Nino pushes his legs off easily.
Mauricio has his feet on Nino's thighs here. He's pushed Nino off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Nino screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
