Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Lauzier (ranked 1237 p4p, 1010 weight class) and Francesco Monroe (ranked 152 p4p, 133 weight class). Francesco Monroe struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Lauzier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Francesco Monroe! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lauzier slips a jab from Monroe. Lauzier looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Monroe is fending him off so far but Lauzier persists. Nope, Monroe circles away and we're back to standing.
Monroe drops Lauzier with a beautiful combination! Lauzier stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Monroe is looking for the KO!
 It looks like Gabriel Lauzier has been cut. Monroe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lauzier was well out of range. Poor timing from Monroe. Monroe ducks under a wild hook from Lauzier. Lauzier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Monroe.
Monroe misses with a lunging right hand
and Lauzier connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Monroe paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
 Lauzier is rocked! Lauzier throws an overhand right that lands on Monroe's shoulder, as Monroe tries to avoid the shot. Monroe throws out a counter right but Lauzier avoids it with no problem. Lauzier has a takedown stuffed. Monroe misses with a body shot.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Lauzier takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
 Gabriel Lauzier's cut is getting worse. Lauzier misses with a left hand and Monroe counters with a right hand to the body. Lauzier shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Lauzier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lauzier looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Monroe is fending him off so far but Lauzier persists. Nope, Monroe circles away and we're back to standing. Monroe misses with a two punch combination.

and Monroe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Lauzier has a takedown stuffed. Monroe connects with a jab. A big right from Monroe misses. Gabriel Lauzier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Lauzier fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lauzier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Monroe counters with a crisp right hand that drops Lauzier! Monroe lets Lauzier back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Monroe throws out a loose jab but Lauzier uses good head movement to avoid it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lauzier. Lauzier throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Monroe keeps the fight on the outside. Lauzier looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A slow jab from Monroe misses its intended target. Monroe gets off balance looking for a body kick and Lauzier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
 It looks like Francesco Monroe has been cut.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Lauzier digs a good body shot into Monroe's ribs. Lauzier's jab looks to have found its range, popping Monroe under the eye.
Lauzier closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Monroe is looking for a sweep. Monroe struggling a bit here. Monroe manages to get back to half guard. Monroe moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Monroe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lauzier content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Lauzier chips away with some ground and pound. Monroe working a defensive guard here.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Monroe holds on and takes a little breather. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monroe can do anything to dispel that myth. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Monroe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lauzier's guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Francesco Monroe dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lauzier fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Monroe on the side of the head. Monroe throws a hook but Lauzier avoids it easily. Lauzier goes for a double leg but Monroe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Monroe continues to drive forward. Monroe working some nice short punches in the clinch. Monroe can't find room to land a body shot as Lauzier controls the action.
Monroe lands a body shot. Monroe content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Lauzier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lauzier lands with a cross. Lauzier doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lauzier takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lauzier misses with a hook

 That's one minute gone in the round. Lauzier shoots in and drives through. Monroe sprawls well. Monroe swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Lauzier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Monroe cracks Lauzier with a right hand to the side of the head. Oh Lauzier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Monroe ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Lauzier's jaw. Lauzier's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Monroe does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
