PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lukasz Patryk (ranked 2188 p4p, 3673 weight class) and Fedor Mazepin (ranked 248 p4p, 396 weight class). Mazepin has chosen boom as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lukasz Patryk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 57 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fedor Mazepin!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patryk looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mazepin!
Mazepin is looking to regain half guard here but Patryk keeps moving and retains side control.
Patryk definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Patryk stands up.

Patryk moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Patryk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Patryk lands the left hand.

It looks like Fedor Mazepin has been cut.

Patryk takes the fight into the clinch.

Mazepin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Patryk is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mazepin to the mat. Mazepin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Mazepin is looking to stand back up but Patryk counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mazepin.

Patryk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mazepin is just riding it out for now. Patryk eventually gives up the hold.

Patryk is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
A nice elbow there by Patryk.
Mazepin is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Patryk has taken his back.
Mazepin is trying to break free.

Patryk looking for the choke but no joy.
Patryk has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mazepin's body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Patryk is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Mazepin takes a big shot to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Patryk has good solid back control here.

Patryk looking to break Mazepin's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mazepin remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Patryk will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Mazepin wants to escape the position.

Patryk is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mazepin is defending well though. Patryk let's go of the attempt for now.

Patryk seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mazepin for as long as he can get away with.

Patryk throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Mazepin!

That has opened up Fedor Mazepin's cut even more.

Patryk is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Mazepin has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Patryk has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Mazepin taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Patryk doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Lukasz Patryk decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
