Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Erica Santana (ranked 2486 p4p, 2577 weight class) and Jake Askren (ranked 147 p4p, 154 weight class). Santana comes to the cage accompanied by Scream - OG Ron C. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erica Santana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 27 - 1, fighting out of London, Jake Askren! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santana avoids a punch combination nicely.
Santana is looking to clinch but Askren is avoiding it.
Santana will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Santana goes for a double leg but Askren avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Askren continues to drive forward. Askren is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Santana is looking for a takedown. Askren is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Santana can't fight it off and eventually Askren manages to take the fight to the floor. Santana looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Santana keeping moving, preventing Askren from controlling successfully. Santana seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Askren is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Santana wants to stand up but Askren is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Askren stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erica Santana. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santana gets caught napping as Askren dives in and scores a takedown. Santana manages to retain guard. Askren wants to stand but Santana is controlling his posture from full guard. Askren's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Askren closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Santana did well to prevent Askren getting side control. Santana kicks Askren off and gets back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Santana as Askren shoots in. Santana throws a one two combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Santana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Askren avoids a punch combination nicely.

Santana misses with a takedown attempt - Askren sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Askren is defended easily by Santana.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santana shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santana showed some decent athleticism there. Santana missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Santana trying to mount his opponent but Askren defends it. Santana misses with a head shot. Askren uses the momentum to regain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santana accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Askren. Askren tries to move to mount but Santana blocks the move with his legs. Askren controls the position. Askren trying to control the position but Santana is working away. Askren goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Santana has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Askren but great work by Santana. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santana creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Askren sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Askren dodges the ground and pound from Santana. Santana working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The ground and pound from Santana seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Santana misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Santana swings around for an armbar but Askren sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Santana's guard. Santana is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Askren can do to turn this around? Askren sitting in guard here, content to control. Let's hope that Askren has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santana lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Santana with a flurry of punches that miss. Erica Santana overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Santana throws a strike but Askren rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Askren content to stall in guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Askren won't allow Santana to get back to his feet. Askren stands up from Santana's guard - Askren perhaps looking for a knockout. Erica Santana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santana fails with an attempt to clinch.
Askren shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santana but Santana pushes him off and we're back to square one. Askren fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Santana throwing a counter right hand but Askren manages to avoid it. Santana scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Askren. Erica Santana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Askren. Askren is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Askren slips a jab and a cross from Santana.
A right-left combo lands from Santana. Santana lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Askren with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Santana to score with a decent uppercut. Santana misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Santana scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Santana is looking to clinch. Askren circles away from the clinch attempt.
Askren is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. A cross from Santana lands. Askren gets caught flat footed, as Santana shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Santana throwing strikes from guard but Askren blocks nicely. Askren utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Santana postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Askren is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Santana, into his guard.
Askren gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Erica Santana dominated that second round. That's time! Santana's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! A punch combination from Askren misses. Erica Santana is winning the standup battle so far. Santana keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Askren shoots in looking for a takedown but Santana manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Askren's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Santana lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Askren looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Santana dives in and scores a takedown into Askren's guard. Askren has a closed guard, preventing Santana from standing up. Santana throws an elbow that misses. Askren uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Santana's guard. Nice move by Askren!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Askren trying to control but Santana is working from the bottom. Askren sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askren wants to control from the top but Santana keeps moving. Santana trying to control the position.
Askren slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Askren prevents Santana from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Askren postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Santana tries to clinch there but Askren circles away.
Santana lands with a nice body punch. Santana looks to land a combination. Askren sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Erica Santana is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Santana lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Askren backs up against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Askren moves out of range as Santana strikes. Askren dives in and scores a takedown into Santana's guard. Askren showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Askren is continuing to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santana tries to land a sweep but no joy. Askren wants to stand and escape but instead Santana has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Santana throws a big elbow that misses. Santana missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Askren pulls Santana in to control the position. Santana throws an elbow that misses. Askren uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Santana's guard. Nice move by Askren!
Santana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jake Askren has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Askren throwing strikes but missing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santana not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Erica Santana showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Santana, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
