Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antoine Villa (ranked 2968 p4p, 2754 weight class) and Ashi Garami (ranked 370 p4p, 355 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antoine Villa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ashi Garami! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garami misses with a body shot.
Garami blocks a jab. Garami looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Villa is fending him off so far but Garami persists. Nope, Villa circles away and we're back to standing. Garami lands with a nice body punch. Garami gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Villa stalling in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villa tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Villa has a couple of punches blocked by Garami.
I was talking to Villa's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Garami has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Villa after a bit of a struggle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villa pushes Garami back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Villa seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Garami can turn it around. Garami goes for a takedown attempt but Villa pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Garami changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Villa pushes Garami back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Villa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Garami uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Villa. And Garami tries to counter it with a takedown but Villa pushes his down on his head and steps out. Villa misses with a left hand and Garami counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garami trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Garami's corner is telling him to maintain position. Villa controls Garami momentarily but Garami frees himself. Villa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Garami is one step ahead there. Villa throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Villa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Garami is controlling him. Garami trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Villa throws a right hand that Garami ducks under and follows up with a left that Garami also avoids with ease. Garami throws a body punch but Villa moves out of range. and Garami counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Garami slips nicely into half guard. Still in half guard, Garami seems content to control. Villa is trying to maintain the position but Garami is very close to passing his half guard. Garami moves into full mount! Villa won't be happy about that! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villa is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Garami looking to ground and pound but Villa is blocking nicely. Garami wants to control the pace but Villa is squirming around nicely. Garami is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Villa has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Villa! Villa stands up from guard. Let's bang! Garami shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Garami was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Villa is not content to let Garami control the position. Garami wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Villa, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garami throwing strikes but missing, from side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Villa throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Villa defending against the ground and pound. Garami wants to lay and pray for a moment but Villa keeps working. Villa is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villa is working hard here to advance position. Garami tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Garami trying to control the position but Villa is working away. Villa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Garami wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Garami looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Villa is trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Garami is looking to take a break and control but Villa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Garami has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Villa! Villa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garami on the ground. Villa is trying to stand. Villa defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Garami. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Villa is squirming around, avoiding Garami's attempts to control the action. Villa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ashi Garami showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ashi Garami's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Garami jabs Villa to the body, keeping him at a distance. Villa throws a jab but it's blocked by Garami. Garami lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Antoine Villa is winning the standup battle so far. Villa misses with a straight right. A jab from Garami misses. Villa throws a leg kick and Garami counters with a single leg into guard. Villa didn't expect that. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garami passes Villa's left leg - he's now in half guard. Garami throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Well, if Garami is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garami is just content to waste time from the top position. Villa takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Villa working a defensive guard here.
Garami trying to control but Villa is working from the bottom. Garami is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Garami postures up.
Garami advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garami works to advance to full mount. Villa defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Garami has control of Villa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Villa regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Garami is working for a guillotine from mount but Villa frees his head quite easily.
Villa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Villa tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villa is desperately trying to improve his position but Garami has a good base and remains in mount. Villa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Villa holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Garami tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Villa keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Villa is squirming around, avoiding Garami's attempts to control the action. Villa regains half guard. Villa trying to hold on to Garami's head to control him but Garami postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Garami thows a huge punch but Villa dodges it nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Ashi Garami comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Garami has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
