Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Daicse (ranked 2104 p4p, 3210 weight class) and Alejandro Laguera (ranked 204 p4p, 280 weight class). Mark Daicse has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Daicse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alejandro Laguera! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daicse lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Laguera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Daicse. Daicse avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Daicse throwing a counter right hand but Laguera manages to avoid it. Laguera looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mark Daicse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Laguera on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Daicse throws a right hand that Laguera ducks under and follows up with a left that Laguera also avoids with ease. A lazy left from Daicse finds it's target. Daicse definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Daicse showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Laguera.
Daicse lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laguera looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Decent striking displayed by Laguera there. Daicse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Laguera avoids it really well and circles away. Laguera unleashes a big counter combination but Daicse bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laguera misses with a double jab
and Daicse counters with a nice double leg into side control. Laguera won't be happy with that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Laguera struggling a bit here. Laguera tries to control but Daicse manages to take his back. Laguera just trying to survive but Daicse is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Daicse has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Laguera has freed his hand and lives to survive another well, another couple of seconds at least!
Laguera tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laguera regains half guard. Laguera looks like he's trying to stand up.
Laguera is doing well to control the position and prevent Daicse from advancing to side control. Laguera is not content to let Daicse control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laguera wants to get back to full guard. Laguera wants to control but Daicse passes into side.
Laguera is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Daicse is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Laguera knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Daicse swings around for an armbar but Laguera sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Daicse's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laguera postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Laguera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Daicse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Laguera has managed to get both his arms back between Daicse's legs - danger averted. Laguera scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Daicse looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daicse is trying to control the position but Laguera postures up. Daicse is really struggling to control Laguera but he's trying to hold on to the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Daicse will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Laguera takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Laguera on the wrong end of a nice hook. Daicse swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Laguera counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Laguera cracks Daicse with a good jab. Mark Daicse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Laguera throws a left and a right that both miss
and Daicse counters with a big right hand! Oh Laguera is in trouble here! Daicse follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Daicse! An out of breath and clearly excited Mark Daicse thanked BANZAI NUTRITION for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
