Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joey Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Gilmore does it's job there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Castillo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gilmore's elbow.
Gilmore misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gilmore working aggressively here.

Castillo blocks a body shot from Gilmore.
Castillo has Gilmore pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gilmore manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Castillo jumps guard and drags Gilmore to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Gilmore trying to control but Castillo is working from the bottom.
Gilmore postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Gilmore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Castillo trying to keep a closed guard but Gilmore is proving a slippery customer.

Castillo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gilmore throws a jab when Castillo was well out of range.

A quick step to the side and Gilmore tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Castillo misses with the combination.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gilmore closes the distance and pushes Castillo back into the cage.

Gilmore lands a hook that snaps the head of Castillo backwards.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gilmore.
Castillo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Gilmore.
Gilmore misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Castillo is trying to break the clinch but Gilmore is controlling him.
Gilmore goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gilmore doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Gilmore is pushing Castillo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Castillo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Castillo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Castillo looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gilmore is defending well. Castillo quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gilmore has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Castillo celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
