Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Germano (ranked 3950 p4p, 5249 weight class) and Janos Paprikas (ranked 0 p4p, 396 weight class). Diego Germano had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Germano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Janos Paprikas! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paprikas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Germano to score an easy takedown into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Germano working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Germano passes into half guard. Germano perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Germano decides to stand and escape the position. Paprikas throws a head kick but Germano moves out of range.
Germano is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Paprikas. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Germano drives through and clinches with Paprikas against the cage.

Germano pulls guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Paprikas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Paprikas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Paprikas wants to stand and escape but instead Germano has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Germano's corner is telling him to maintain position. Germano slips nicely into half guard. Paprikas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Germano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Germano looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Paprikas tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Germano manages to move to mount!

 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Germano looking to secure an arm triangle but Paprikas defends it well. Germano controlling the pace for now. Germano really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Germano's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Germano with the ground and pound from mount. Germano controlling the position easily from mount. Paprikas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Germano is landing with some decent strikes but Paprikas is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Germano controlling from the full mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Germano dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Paprikas punishes Germano's body with a nice straight punch.
Germano closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Paprikas's guard. Germano controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Diego Germano overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Paprikas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Germano lands a couple of digs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Germano stands and throws Paprikas's legs to the side, diving into side control. Germano lands a nice forearm strike.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Germano advances to full mount. Germano takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Paprikas is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Germano locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Paprikas is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Diego Germano!
