Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zambosurian Inday (ranked 22803 p4p, 5277 weight class) and John James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 91 - 60 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zambosurian Inday!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John James!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Inday tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but James defends well and Inday ends up having to push James into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Inday has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Inday is looking to take this one to the mat.

James gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

James is working for a kimura here but Inday manages to reverse the position and he's now in James's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Inday defends well.
Inday is stalling in the full guard.

James working for submissions but it's allowed Inday to get to half guard.

James looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Inday pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Inday controlling the pace for now.
Inday has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

James keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Inday controlling from the full mount.
James really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Inday working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Inday looking to control and managing it successfully.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Inday with a lazy takedown attempt
and Inday takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Inday looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for James!
James tries to buck Inday off but Inday is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inday is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt James will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Inday seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down James for as long as he can get away with.

James tries to buck Inday off but Inday is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Inday fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away.
Zambosurian Inday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Inday tries for a takedown but James circles away easily
and James connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zambosurian Inday. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Inday has his takedown stuffed

so James counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

James is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Inday is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Inday has escaped and now he's on top!


James isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Inday stacks James on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Inday!

James is looking to regain half guard here but Inday keeps moving and retains side control.
Inday misses with the ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Inday in side control, just content to control the action for now.
James is trying to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zambosurian Inday will probably get the nod.

Inday shoots in and drives through. James sprawls well.
Inday shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.
James changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Inday fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zambosurian Inday. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from James enables Inday to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. James manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

James looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Inday has picked James up and slammed him! James can't keep hold of the triangle and Inday manages to pass to side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James tries to improve position but can't.
Zambosurian Inday overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Inday trying to control the action but James is working from the bottom.
Inday is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt James will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
James is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James trying to remain calm as Inday controls from the top position.
James tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Inday wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Inday trying to control the position but James is working away.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Inday shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Zambosurian Inday is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Inday misses with a takedown
and James counters with a nice uppercut.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zambosurian Inday.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Inday, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
