Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Rio (ranked 4193 p4p, 3984 weight class) and John Kicking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Rio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Kicking! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rio wants to clinch. Rio misses with a takedown attempt - Kicking sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kicking flicks out a counter leg kick but Rio steps away. Rio pushes Kicking up against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kicking wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kicking tries to break free but Rio pushes him back against the cage. Kicking crunches a lovely knee into Rio's ribcage. Kicking is trying to break free. Rio has Kicking pressed against the cage, preventing Kicking from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kicking is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rio keeps control of Kicking as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rio decides to pull guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rio is looking for a triangle but Kicking pushes his legs off easily.
Rio seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rio is pulling down on Kicking's head to control his posture. Rio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kicking doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Rio is tightening it up a little... Kicking has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kicking reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kicking taps out! Nice BJJ there by Rio!
