The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Simpson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Simpson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Franklin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Simpson is looking to escape.
Franklin wants to finish this one by submission but Simpson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Franklin.
Simpson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Franklin quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Franklin but it's paid off an Simpson is forced to tap! Nice work by Franklin.
