Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rey Ross (ranked 4116 p4p, 24958 weight class) and Xander Philips (ranked 342 p4p, 445 weight class). Xander Philips will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Philips throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ross leaves Philips with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A punch lands to the side of Philips 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Xander Philips has been cut.

Philips changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ross tries to avoid it but Philips manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ross to the ground. Ross escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ross has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Rey Ross took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
Xander Philips was interviewed post fight and said 'Listen, listen... I tried my hardest and i was doing amazing. Then suddenly a couple shots and im here. Submission or tko. I keep fighting. I want the rematch asap'.
