Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kobe Mwinshehe (ranked 3850 p4p, 24900 weight class) and Himan Sym (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kobe Mwinshehe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Himan Sym! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Chris Dean and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mwinshehe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sym throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mwinshehe. A looping hook to the body misses from Mwinshehe. Sym does a little dance to reset his feet. Mwinshehe checks a low kick from Sym. Mwinshehe swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Sym shoots in and gets a takedown into Mwinshehe's guard. Sym stands up over Mwinshehe, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mwinshehe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sym is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sym trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mwinshehe being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Sym has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mwinshehe is looking to stand up but Sym isn't so interested in that idea. Sym tries to free his leg and advance position but Mwinshehe is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mwinshehe throws a poor cross that misses
and Sym counters with a right hand to the body. Kobe Mwinshehe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mwinshehe slaps away a takedown attempt from Sym, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sym shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mwinshehe is trying to stand.

Sym takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mwinshehe squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Sym pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Sym sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mwinshehe tries to buck Sym off but he can't manage it. BOOM! Sym connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Mwinshehe's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Sym landing strikes from the mount. Sym fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
You get the feeling that Mwinshehe really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sym putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Mwinshehe is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Sym is working for a guillotine from mount but Mwinshehe frees his head quite easily.

Himan Sym dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sym shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mwinshehe's guard. Mwinshehe wants to stand but Sym is controlling the position. Mwinshehe trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sym wants to pass the guard but Mwinshehe is keeping the position. Mwinshehe wants to stand and escape but Sym is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sym slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mwinshehe throws a poor cross that misses
and Sym counters with a series of strikes. Mwinshehe will be more careful next time no doubt. Sym shoots in and bounces Mwinshehe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sym content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Sym passes Mwinshehe's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sym stops Mwinshehe from getting back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sym has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sym thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mwinshehe pushes Sym off looking to stand but Sym dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sym has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sym tries to pass to full mount but Mwinshehe defends it. Sym working Mwinshehe over with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mwinshehe tries to kick Sym off but Sym keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Sym is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mwinshehe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sym. Sym is taking a breather. Mwinshehe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mwinshehe is looking to escape.

and Sym counters with a stiff right hand. Himan Sym is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mwinshehe misses the jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mwinshehe misses with a left hand enabling Sym to counter with a crisp jab. Sym looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mwinshehe is fending him off so far but Sym persists. Nope, Mwinshehe circles away and we're back to standing. Mwinshehe throws an off balance right hand
and Sym counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sym is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mwinshehe pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mwinshehe lands with a light punch inside. Sym turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Mwinshehe is trying to get back to his feet. Sym looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mwinshehe is avoiding damage well.
Sym working the body and head with strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sym stands up. Sym throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mwinshehe misses with a double jab
and Sym moves into the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Himan Sym showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Sym ducks under a wild hook from Mwinshehe. Sym has closed the distance and engaged Mwinshehe in a clinch.

Sym will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mwinshehe up against the cage. Sym is trying to trip Mwinshehe. He has hold of a leg but Mwinshehe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sym persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Mwinshehe wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sym manages to pass to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mwinshehe is trying to stand back up but Sym is controlling him

Mwinshehe in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Sym lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kobe Mwinshehe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A nice elbow there by Sym. Sym wants to finish this one by submission but Mwinshehe is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sym. Mwinshehe squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

And that's the end of the fight! Himan Sym comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sym has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
