The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Congo clips Vij with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Vij a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
Vij is rocked!
It looks like Alexander Vij has been cut.
We've been informed that Congo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Congo weaves into range and cracks Vij right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Vij goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Congo is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

In his post fight interview, Roberto Congo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
