Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Victor Briggs (ranked 3966 p4p, 3984 weight class) and Mikel Arnetta (ranked 478 p4p, 479 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Victor Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mikel Arnetta! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arnetta gets tackled into the cage by Briggs. Briggs maintains the clinch. Briggs breaks from the clinch.
A shot to the liver by Arnetta. Beautiful body shot. Briggs shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Briggs showed some decent athleticism there. Arnetta gets back to full guard.
Briggs has gone for a leg lock! Arnetta slips out almost immediately though and dives into Briggs's guard. Arnetta trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs wants to sweep but no luck. Briggs being controlled here, momentarily. Briggs is adopting a defensive guard. Arnetta trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom. Arnetta advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Arnetta is figuring out what he wants to do next. Arnetta wants to control but Briggs is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Briggs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Arnetta pulls his head out easily. Arnetta passes to side control. Arnetta trying to control the position but Briggs is working away. Arnetta has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arnetta takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Briggs is controlling an arm, preventing Arnetta from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Briggs is working to get back to half guard.
Arnetta working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Briggs looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Arnetta! Submission of the night perhaps?
