This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Hoodoo Brown! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.

Brown gets caught napping as Schlong dives in and scores a takedown. Brown manages to retain guard. Brown is trying to control but can't.

Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Schlong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schlong pulls Brown in to control the position. Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Schlong is retaining full guard. Schlong is working the butterfly guard. Schlong seems to be working for a kimura but Brown defends the submission attempt. Schlong is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Brown reverses the position - he's now on top in Schlong's guard.  That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown wants to sweep here but Schlong controlling him for the moment. Schlong wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position. Brown bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Schlong's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Schlong (6) vs (6) Brown Schlong wants to sweep but no luck. Schlong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Schlong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Schlong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Brown looking to pass the guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown slips nicely into half guard. Brown trying to mount his opponent but Schlong defends it. Brown works his way into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Schlong (6) vs (9) Brown A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schlong keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Schlong is being controlled here. Schlong is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control.
Brown working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brown working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Schlong sneaks back into half guard. Schlong is looking to improve his position.
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schlong keeps working. The fighters are battling for position here. Schlong manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schlong working a defensive guard here.

 That's five minutes gone in the round. Schlong is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Brown wants to control from the top but Schlong keeps moving. Schlong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Brown is pushing down on Schlong's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schlong is fighting to maintain full guard but Brown has managed to sneak the leg through. Schlong is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Brown has latched onto it... Big trouble! Brown pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Schlong is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Brown!
