This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 17 wins and 10 losses; Niles Standish! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Sekera tries to clinch up but Standish circles away and keeps his distance. Standish with the counter takedown but Sekera avoids it easily. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sekera stops a takedown attempt from Standish.

Standish has Sekera pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Standish pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sekera tumbling to the mat - Standish dives into Sekera's guard. Let's hope that Standish has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. My spies in Globo Gym (5000) inform me that Standish has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
