The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lin dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on Lin's head and hops out.
James feints the counter takedown.
Lin closes this distance looking for a takedown but James circles away.
James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lin.
And James tries to counter it with a takedown but Lin pushes his down on his head and steps out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nico Lin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in James's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James wants to improve his position but Lin is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lin moves nicely into side control.

Lin manages to capitalize on a mistake by James to take his back!

James rolls, trying to escape but Lin keeps control of the position.
Lin seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
James is looking to escape here. Oh dear - Lin has locked on a rear naked choke here! James is tapping out! The fight is over!
