Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Mercer (ranked 1975 p4p, 2409 weight class) and Naruesorn Chaiyachue (ranked 201 p4p, 239 weight class). Mercer comes into the arena with Why Can't We Be Friends by WAR blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Mercer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naruesorn Chaiyachue! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mercer misses the jab. Mercer keeps the fight on the outside. Mercer misses the shot to the body. Mercer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mercer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A combination from Mercer does no damage. Naruesorn Chaiyachue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mercer misses with a body kick. Chaiyachue throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Chaiyachue is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chaiyachue's coach down at Rising Sun Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chaiyachue's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Mercer throws a body punch but Chaiyachue moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chaiyachue blocks a head kick by Mercer.
Chaiyachue wants to counter the offense by Mercer and move into the clinch position. Chaiyachue doesn't manage to clinch there - Mercer circles away.
Mercer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Mercer - that will leave a mark!
Mercer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Chaiyachue checks a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercer lands a big head kick that sends Chaiyachue tumbling to the mat! Mercer takes a step backwards and waves Chaiyachue back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Chaiyachue is rocked! The fight stays on the outside here - Chaiyachue looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chaiyachue is still on wobbly legs! Can Mercer finish him? Mercer scores with a leg kick.
Chaiyachue seems to have recovered his senses. Chaiyachue is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chaiyachue fails to land the takedown. Chaiyachue is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mercer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Chaiyachue waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mercer. Mercer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mercer lands with a hook. Chaiyachue tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A low kick from Mercer misses and Chaiyachue counters with a straight right hand. Chaiyachue is looking to clinch but Mercer is avoiding it.
Chaiyachue fails in his attempt to clinch. Mercer is looking for a counter combo. Mercer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chaiyachue tries to close the distance and clinch but Mercer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chaiyachue rushes Mercer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mercer manages to break the clinch.
Chaiyachue fails in his attempt to clinch. Mercer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mercer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mercer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mercer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

enabling Chaiyachue to counter with a crisp jab. Chaiyachue wants to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mercer tries to keep at a distance but Chaiyachue has taken the fight into the clinch. Chaiyachue misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mercer.
Mercer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mercer attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Mercer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chaiyachue takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mercer throws a head kick but Chaiyachue moves out of range.
Mercer closes the distance and lands a one-two. Mercer throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Chaiyachue counters with a lovely straight right hand! Chaiyachue tries to clinch there but Mercer circles away.
Chaiyachue is looking to clinch but Mercer is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chaiyachue is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mercer. Mercer seems to be stalking Chaiyachue here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Chaiyachue drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
