Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devyn Howell (ranked 1904 p4p, 1193 weight class) and Kryten Mechanoid (ranked 224 p4p, 150 weight class). Mechanoid has chosen It's Cold Outside as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devyn Howell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kryten Mechanoid!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mechanoid shoots in for a takedown but Howell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mechanoid closes the distance and clinches up with Howell, looking for a takedown. Mechanoid pushes Howell against the cage but Howell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Howell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mechanoid to the mat! Mechanoid manages to get full guard.
Howell tries to free his leg and advance position but Mechanoid is retaining full guard.
Howell trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Mechanoid manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Howell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Howell working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Mechanoid has passed into half guard!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mechanoid is looking to take a break and control but Howell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Howell gets back to full guard.

Mechanoid wants to control from the top but Howell keeps moving.
Mechanoid is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Howell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mechanoid defends well.
Howell tries to strike from the bottom.
Mechanoid throwing strikes but missing.
Mechanoid content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Howell is trying to keep Mechanoid in close.
Howell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Howell wants to control the position but Mechanoid says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Howell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Mechanoid sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Howell's guard.
Mechanoid uses his free foot to push down on Howell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Howell.
Mechanoid lands a heavy elbow.
Howell wants to hold on but Mechanoid pushes him away.
Howell tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mechanoid raining down hammerfists from mount.
BOOM! Mechanoid connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Mechanoid lands a big shot there that rocks Howell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mechanoid looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mechanoid looking to control and managing it successfully.
Mechanoid scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Mechanoid lands a couple of good shots and Howell has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Howell takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Mechanoid looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Mechanoid scores with punches to the body.
A lull in the action here.
Mechanoid lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Howell rolls, trying to escape but Mechanoid keeps control of the position.
What can Howell do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Mechanoid's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Howell trying to control the hands but Mechanoid won't let him.
Howell tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Mechanoid wants to control the pace but Howell is squirming around nicely.
Howell in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Howell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mechanoid looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Mechanoid loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Howell scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mechanoid land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mechanoid stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kryten Mechanoid!
