Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Perez (ranked 3107 p4p, 4098 weight class) and Filippo Coca (ranked 274 p4p, 330 weight class). Santiago Perez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santiago Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Filippo Coca! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez misses with a series of wild punches.
Coca swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Perez has managed to clinch.
Perez wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Perez working hard to break the clinch. Coca is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Perez is defending well for now. Perez is trying to break the clinch but Coca has him pressed against the cage. Perez pushes Coca back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Coca tries to land knees in the clinch but Perez avoids the damage to the body. Perez lands with a short head shot on the inside. Perez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short body shot lands from Perez as the two fighters clinch.
Perez tries to circle away but Coca has him pinned against the cage. Perez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Perez wants to break free but Coca has control.

Perez makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Perez is trying to break free. Coca breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Perez gets a clinch. Perez is trying to break free. Coca tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Perez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Perez is trying to force a seperation but Coca has the dominant position. Coca prevents Perez from breaking the clinch. Perez is trying to break free. Perez wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez is trying to force a seperation but Coca has the dominant position. Perez lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Coca with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Coca is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Perez to keep the fight standing. Coca pulls guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Coca holds on and takes a little breather. Coca is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perez defends well. Coca is trying to control the position but Perez postures up. Coca has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Perez works his way back into a safe position though. Coca is controlling Perez's posture. Perez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Perez is looking to stand up but Coca won't let him. Coca not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Coca to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Perez is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Coca pulls down on the head and he's put Perez to sleep! This one is all over!
