Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Sparr (ranked 981 p4p, 828 weight class) and Suga Diabeetus (ranked 124 p4p, 100 weight class). Sparr comes to the cage accompanied by OH NO!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Sparr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Suga Diabeetus! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sparr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Sparr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sparr throws a big elbow that misses. Diabeetus being controlled here, momentarily. That's one minute gone in the round. Diabeetus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sparr controls the pace. Diabeetus has momentary wrist control but Sparr slips an elbow through the middle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sparr trying to control but Diabeetus is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sparr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Diabeetus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sparr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diabeetus has managed to get both his arms back between Sparr's legs - danger averted. Diabeetus tries to stand but Sparr is controlling from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sparr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Diabeetus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sparr looking for a sweep. Not yet Sparr, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Diabeetus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sparr avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sparr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diabeetus tries to avoid it but Sparr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diabeetus to the ground. Diabeetus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. It seemed like Diabeetus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Sparr cracks Diabeetus with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Diabeetus connects with the punch. Diabeetus throws an overhand right that lands on Sparr's shoulder, as Sparr tries to avoid the shot. Sparr thuds his right hand into Diabeetus's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Sparr slips under a jab. Sparr tries to counter with a takedown but Diabeetus is quick to defend against it. Diabeetus lands with a nice body punch. Sparr slips under a jab from Diabeetus. Sparr manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diabeetus on his heels. He'll look to pass Diabeetus's guard now, I'm sure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Diabeetus keeping moving, preventing Sparr from controlling successfully. Diabeetus keeping full guard, as Sparr tries to pass. Sparr trying to control the position from guard on top but Diabeetus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sparr throws a strike but Diabeetus rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Diabeetus being controlled here momentarily. Sparr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sparr looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Sparr is trying to hold Diabeetus in close to prevent damage but Diabeetus has managed to pass into half guard.

That's six minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sparr makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sparr. Sparr is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Sparr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Diabeetus throws a body shot but no joy. Sparr takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Sparr throws a hook but Diabeetus blocks it. Diabeetus thows a left - swing and a miss! Sparr half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Diabeetus slaps away a takedown attempt from Sparr, before circling back to the center of the mat. Suga Diabeetus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Diabeetus throws out a loose jab but Sparr uses good head movement to avoid it. Diabeetus tries to move into range but Sparr moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Sparr won't allow Diabeetus to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sparr trying to control but Diabeetus is working from the bottom. Sparr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Diabeetus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that is the end of the round. That's one minute gone in the round. Sparr throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Oh Sparr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Diabeetus displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sparr throws out the jab. Sparr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Diabeetus wants to get back to his feet. Sparr seems to have got his legs back now. Diabeetus dodges the ground and pound from Sparr. Roger Sparr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Diabeetus is trying to get back to his feet. Roger Sparr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sparr moves into full mount! Diabeetus won't be happy about that! A nice elbow there by Sparr. Sparr looking to control but Diabeetus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Sparr lands a couple of good shots and Diabeetus has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Sparr has Diabeetus flattened out and is raining down punches. Suga Diabeetus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Sparr controlling the position well here. Diabeetus rolled but Sparr kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
