And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 73 wins and 48 losses; Tyron Scott! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Scott manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chai on his heels. He'll look to pass Chai's guard now, I'm sure. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Chai (0) vs (2) Scott Chai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Scott engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Chai trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chai looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Chai wants to control the position but Scott says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Scott wants to free his trapped foot but Chai is holding on for dear life with his legs. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chai trying to hold on to Scott's head to control him but Scott postures up.

Still in half guard, Scott seems content to control. Chai keeps control of the position for the meantime. Chai is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chai has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Scott is working away from the top position though. The fighters are battling for position here. Chai manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chai swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chai controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My spies in Hammer House of Horror inform me that Scott has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Chai manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scott manages to get himself to full guard.

Chai is figuring out what he wants to do next. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chai looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points and both fighters attempted the same number of subs, we will decide the bout based on the toss of a coin! Chai is heads and Scott is tails. The coin is in the air and it lands... heads! Chai takes the fight on points by 3 to 2. A very excited looking Leonardinho Chai made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
