The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chai is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Curls seems keen to control Chai's posture. Chai trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Curls has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Curls wants to sweep here but Chai controlling him for the moment.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Chai works a leg free and moves into half guard. Curls has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chai is working away from the top position though. Curls moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Curls is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Curls seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Chai wants to improve his position but Curls is controlling well.

Curls is trying to control the action in half guard but Chai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The fighters are battling for position here. Chai manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Curls slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Chai wants to sweep but no luck.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Curls trying to control but Chai is working from the bottom. Curls content to stall in guard here. Chai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Chai keeping moving, preventing Curls from controlling successfully. Curls stopping the sweep attempt from Chai. Curls is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Curls has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Chai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Chai's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Curls sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chai's guard. Chai felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Curls trying to control the action but Chai is working from the bottom. Curls is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chai is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Curls seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Chai wants to get back to full guard. Curls not doing much here.

 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Curls looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Curls trying to control from Chai's half guard. Chai has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Curls sitting in guard, not really doing much. Curls tries to free his leg and advance position but Chai is retaining full guard. Chai is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Curls trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Chai manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!  That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Curls looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chai is one step ahead there. Chai looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chai looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
