Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joao Miyao (ranked 3099 p4p, 3613 weight class) and Doo Ho Choi (ranked 272 p4p, 304 weight class). Choi has chosen Superman theme as his entrance music. Doo Ho Choi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joao Miyao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Doo Ho Choi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyao gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Choi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Miyao with a poor takedown
and Choi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Miyao shoots in for a takedown but Choi shows good takedown defense.
Choi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joao Miyao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miyao goes for a double leg but Choi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Choi continues to drive forward.
Choi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Choi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Miyao looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Miyao stands and throws Choi's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Miyao is trying to get an arm triangle but Choi is defending well.
Miyao prevents Choi from escaping the position.

Choi is looking to regain half guard here but Miyao keeps moving and retains side control.
Choi is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Choi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Miyao is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Choi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Miyao tries for a kimura but Choi is defending well.
Choi wants to get back to his feet.
Choi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miyao wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Choi wants to control but Miyao postures up.
Miyao is working to tighten his grip on Choi's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Choi has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Miyao is really squeezing tight and eventually Choi passes out! Miyao breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A relieved looking Joao Miyao thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
