Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gatimu Wanjiku (ranked 1964 p4p, 1848 weight class) and Pykky Kalla (ranked 275 p4p, 259 weight class). Pykky Kalla has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gatimu Wanjiku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pykky Kalla!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalla lands the left hand.
Wanjiku takes a swing at Kalla's ribcage but misses.
Kalla feints the counter takedown.
Kalla ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kalla fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wanjiku manages to avoid it.
Kalla closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Kalla shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wanjiku but Wanjiku pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kalla throws out a loose jab but Wanjiku uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wanjiku sizes up Kalla with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kalla punishes Wanjiku's body with a nice straight punch.
Wanjiku throws a sloppy head kick and Kalla moves out of range easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kalla has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Kalla postures up in Wanjiku's guard and throws a big left but Wanjiku blocks it.

Wanjiku is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Gatimu Wanjiku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wanjiku lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wanjiku throws a looping overhand right but Kalla ducks down to avoid it.
Kalla looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've been told by Wanjiku's head coaches at Gumburcules Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gatimu Wanjiku has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pykky Kalla.
Kalla takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kalla swings for the body but Wanjiku moves out of range.

Wanjiku uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kalla has time to react.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wanjiku, as that shot connected.
Kalla throws a leg kick but Wanjiku moved away.

Kalla changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Wanjiku takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Some bone on bone action there as Wanjiku checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wanjiku. Kalla does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wanjiku throws a leg kick but Kalla moved away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wanjiku lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Kalla fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kalla connects with a single shot there.
Kalla uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Kalla punishes Wanjiku's body with a nice straight punch.
Kalla takes one to the side of the head.
Wanjiku is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Nice shot lands for Wanjiku.
Kalla just misses with a punch to the body.
Kalla changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wanjiku tries to avoid it but Kalla manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wanjiku to the ground. Wanjiku escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A slow jab from Kalla misses its intended target.
Kalla shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Wanjiku.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kalla.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kalla bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Wanjiku comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Kalla falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Kalla was out before he hit the floor!
