Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthias Woodard (ranked 3800 p4p, 3805 weight class) and Brayden Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthias Woodard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brayden Tate! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tate lands in his opponent's guard. Tate not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. It looks like Tate might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Woodard is working an open guard so Tate takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Tate works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. That's one minute gone in the round. Tate thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Woodard is looking to regain half guard here but Tate keeps moving and retains side control. Woodard is working to avoid the ground and pound but Tate connects with a decent elbow. Tate lands a strong strike to the head of Woodard. That's dazed him! Tate looking to finish here. Woodard is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Tate lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
