Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pele Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Banton!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro misses with a kick to the body
and Banton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ribeiro won't be happy with that.
Banton is staying tight to Ribeiro's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ribeiro looking for a sweep but Banton has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Ribeiro tries to lock up and control but Banton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Banton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ribeiro is just holding on here. Banton manages to take his back.
Ribeiro is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Banton.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ribeiro is trying to control his opponent's hands. Eventually Banton gets his hands free and sinks in a rear naked choke. For a while it looks like Ribeiro is going to survive but after struggling valiantly, he eventually has to tap out! Banton is your winner!
