This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Jack Williams! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Desmond gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Desmond is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks. Desmond has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Williams after a bit of a struggle. Desmond gets control of Williams's arms and successfully pulls guard. Desmond will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Desmond is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Williams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Williams trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Desmond working for submissions but it's allowed Williams to get to half guard.

Williams prevents Desmond from improving his position. Williams perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Desmond looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Williams pushes past his half guard into mount! That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Desmond defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Williams has the hooks in. Desmond is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack.
