And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Slim Perkins! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Standish tries to clinch up but Perkins circles away and keeps his distance. Niles Standish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Standish fails in his attempt to clinch. Perkins feints the counter takedown. Standish is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Perkins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And Perkins tries to counter it with a takedown but Standish pushes his down on his head and steps out. Standish tries to clinch but Perkins moves out of range. Perkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Standish but Standish pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Standish closes the distance and pushes Perkins back into the cage.

We've been hearing good reports from Standish's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Let's hope that Perkins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Perkins is fighting to break Standish's control of his arms but Standish is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Perkins tries to free his leg and advance position but Standish is retaining full guard.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Standish is pulling down on Perkins's head. It's preventing any offense from Perkins, at least for the moment. Perkins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Perkins preventing the sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Perkins wants to control from the top but Standish keeps moving. Standish is trying to control the position but Perkins postures up.
