The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Pendous gets in close and instigates a clinch. Silverstone drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pendous gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pendous has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Silverstone is trying to keep an underhook but Pendous manages to get the takedown into half guard. Pendous seems to be working for a kimura but Silverstone defends the submission attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pendous wants to control but Silverstone is keeping him busy. Pendous really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silverstone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pendous looking to pass the guard. Pendous is still trying to improve position. Pendous wants to control from the top but Silverstone keeps moving. Pendous must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pendous slips nicely into half guard. Silverstone is looking to improve his position.
Silverstone moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Pendous drops back looking for a leg! Silverstone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silverstone manages to kick Pendous off! Pendous jumps back into Silverstone's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pendous stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silverstone swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pendous drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pendous jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pendous wants to pass the guard but Silverstone is keeping the position. Silverstone is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Pendous has his hands clasped together but Silverstone extends and breaks Pendous's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Silverstone.
