Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Max VanZant (ranked 3896 p4p, 3867 weight class) and Dimitri Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max VanZant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitri Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrov shoots in looking for a takedown. VanZant tries to sprawl out of it but Petrov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. VanZant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

VanZant really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

VanZant will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

VanZant sneaks out the side door and pushes Petrov away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

VanZant is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Petrov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Petrov wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
