And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marques Roy!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ben Hemmingworth and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Bjornsson to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Marques Roy has been cut.
Bjornsson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Roy throws a lazy uppercut
and Bjornsson counters with a nice right hand that sends Roy toppling to the canvas! Roy scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Bjornsson finish him?!
Roy is rocked!
Roy's coach down at Squirrel Sports 🐿️ was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Roy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bjornsson closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Roy out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erik Bjornsson!
