Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Hong (ranked 3693 p4p, 3550 weight class) and Quek Wei (ranked 346 p4p, 336 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Hong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Quek Wei! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Wei shoots for a takedown but Hong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wei dives in for a single leg takedown but Hong sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Wei fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hong avoids it really well and circles away. Jonathan Hong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quek Wei. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wei fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hong throws a big counter combination but Wei scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wei darts in looking for a takedown but Hong gets double underhooks and turns Wei into the cage. It looked like Hong was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Wei fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wei.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wei is defended easily by Hong. Wei goes for a double leg but Hong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hong continues to drive forward. Hong throwing a counter right hand but Wei manages to avoid it. Wei with a poor takedown and Hong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wei tries for a takedown but Hong circles away easily and Hong counters with a stiff right hand. Wei shoots in looking for a takedown. Hong tries to sprawl out of it but Wei keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wei shoots for a takedown but Hong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hong was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Wei shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hong counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wei misses with a takedown and Hong counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wei tries for a takedown but Hong circles away easily and Hong cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Wei shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hong leaves Wei with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wei looks for a takedown but Hong sprawls well.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Wei might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Hong has got the better of the exchanges. Wei looks for a takedown but Hong sprawls well. Hong went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Wei tries for a takedown but Hong circles away easily and Hong counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. It looks like Hong has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Wei shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hong counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Wei goes for a double leg but Hong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hong continues to drive forward. Hong misses with a series of wild punches.

Wei gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Hong to counter with a crisp jab. Hong is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Wei with a poor takedown and Hong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wei dives in and grabs Hong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hong pushes down on Wei's head and hops out. Wei takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wei shoots for a takedown but Hong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Quek Wei has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nice jab there from Hong. Wei looks for a takedown but Hong sprawls well.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonathan Hong showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
