Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns has a takedown stuffed.

Bernard closes the distance but Burns moves to the side
and Burns counters with a straight right hand.
Burns ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Bernard uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burns.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bernard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burns is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bernard can't fight it off and eventually Burns manages to take the fight to the floor. Bernard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Burns's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burns accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns stands up over Bernard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Burns stops Bernard from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bernard works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Burns is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gage Burns dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Burns connects with a right hand. Bernard shakes it off.
Burns lands with an uppercut that bounces Bernard off the cage and back into range.
Bernard on the wrong end of a nice jab.

and Burns counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bernard fails to land with a series of punches.
Bernard is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bernard tries to move into range but Burns moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Burns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bernard can do to turn this around?

Burns working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Burns is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Bernard is hurt! He's hurt bad - Burns fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Bernard from any more punishment! Congratulations to Burns! Great finish!
