Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marc Schlager (ranked 1893 p4p, 2102 weight class) and Lucian Lindsey (ranked 194 p4p, 214 weight class). Lucian Lindsey acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marc Schlager! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucian Lindsey! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lindsey gets a clinch. Lindsey misses with a body punch.
Lindsey tries to throw a body punch but Schlager avoids it by throwing Lindsey back against the cage. Lindsey is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Schlager is defending well for now. Lindsey goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Schlager ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schlager no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Schlager keeping moving, preventing Lindsey from controlling successfully. Lindsey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schlager swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lindsey trying to control the position from guard on top but Schlager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schlager is looking for a triangle but Lindsey pushes his legs off easily.

Lindsey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Schlager, pushing him back against the cage. Lindsey tries to score a body lock takedown but Schlager shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Schlager definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Lindsey looking for a takedown. Schlager ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schlager no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Schlager is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lindsey defends well. Schlager working for a triangle but Lindsey defends it easily.
Lindsey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Schlager has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lindsey has managed to get both his arms back between Schlager's legs - danger averted.

Schlager has his foot on Lindsey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lindsey works his way back into a safe position though. Lindsey is pushing down on Schlager's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schlager is fighting to maintain full guard but Lindsey has managed to sneak the leg through. Lindsey is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lindsey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Schlager sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schlager is staying active underneath Lindsey, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Lindsey is looking to advance position but Schlager won't allow it. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! We've been informed that Lindsey has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Lindsey is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Schlager is keeping busy. Lindsey trying to control the position but instead, Schlager has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lindsey into the cage. Schlager decides to pull guard. Lindsey wants to get up but he can't break Schlager's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that is the end of the round.
