Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitia shoots in for a takedown but Kartel shows good takedown defense.
Kartel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kartel tries for a takedown but Mitia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Mitia is trying to stick to Kartel's back but Kartel is turning into Mitia. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mitia's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kartel.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mitia throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kartel.

Kartel tries to keep at a distance but Mitia has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mitia is pressed up against the cage. Kartel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mitia down to the mat. Mitia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Kartel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mitia had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kartel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mitia Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kartel's back instead.

Kartel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitia's waist but Mitia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kartel off to one side.

Dmitri Mitia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
