Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Balink Tarlah (ranked 2164 p4p, 22776 weight class) and Ethan Campbell (ranked 306 p4p, 586 weight class). Ethan Campbell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Balink Tarlah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Ethan Campbell!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tarlah decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Tarlah uses his free foot to push down on Campbell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Campbell.
Tarlah is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Campbell can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Tarlah has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tarlah seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Campbell for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tarlah's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Tarlah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Campbell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tarlah defends it nicely.
Tarlah drops down looking for a counter takedown but Campbell sprawls and moves away.
Tarlah walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Campbell checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Tarlah throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Campbell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tarlah is in Campbell's guard.

Tarlah continues to stall.
Campbell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tarlah is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Campbell can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tarlah keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Campbell's head.
Tarlah not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Tarlah is stinking the place up with his stalling.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A chopping leg kick lands by Tarlah.
Tarlah turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Campbell tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Campbell dives in and grabs Tarlah's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tarlah pushes down on Campbell's head and hops out.
Campbell throws a head kick that misses.

Tarlah shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Campbell tries to kick Tarlah off in order to stand up. Tarlah Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Campbell is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Campbell is working to avoid the ground and pound but Tarlah connects with a decent elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Tarlah closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tarlah lands in his opponent's guard.
Campbell is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Tarlah dives into side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Balink Tarlah overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Campbell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tarlah pushes down on Campbell's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tarlah keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well Tarlah has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
