Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Goguryeo Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the cage accompanied by CANON in D Korean Version (with gayageum) . Nate Walker has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Goguryeo Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Walker!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kim.
Kim buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Walker dives in and grabs Kim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kim pushes down on Walker's head and hops out.
Kim drops Walker with a left right combo! Kim follows him down to the ground into side control.


It looks like Nate Walker has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kim trying to control the action but Walker is working from the bottom.
Walker is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Kim is trying to control the action in half guard but Walker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Walker is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Kim pulls his head out easily.
Kim perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Walker is looking for a sweep. Kim is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kim in particular looking to stall.

Walker looking for submissions off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Walker closes the distance and clinches up with Kim, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes Kim against the cage but Kim circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Walker fails to land the takedown.
Goguryeo Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Walker.
Walker looks gassed!
Walker shoots in for a double leg but Kim sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kim closes the distance and pushes Walker back into the cage.
Kim is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Kim tries to land a knee to the head but Walker blocks with his arms.

Walker turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Walker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kim lands a decent little punch to the body.
Kim is trying to improve his position.
Walker trying to control the action but Kim is working from the bottom.
Kim wants to control but Walker postures up.
Kim is trying to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kim throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Walker.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Walker or perhaps it was just good defense by Kim which made him look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Walker.
Walker ducks straight into an uppercut from Kim and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Walker maanges to regain guard straight away.

Kim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Walker has his foot on Kim's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kim works his way back into a safe position though.
Kim lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Walker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kim is aware though and is defending well.
Kim stays in close to Walker's body and controls the position.

Walker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kim makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Walker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kim is one step ahead there.
Kim trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kim is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Walker Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kim's back instead.
Kim wants to control his opponent's hands but Walker gets his hands free.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kim is trying to break free.
Kim looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Goguryeo Kim dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Nate Walker's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No luck for Walker with that takedown attempt.
Goguryeo Kim is winning the standup battle so far.
Walker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kim.
Kim pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Walker takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Walker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kim smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kim stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet.

Kim rushes Walker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Walker is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kim pushes Walker back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kim lands with a left to the head.
Kim is pressed up against the cage. Walker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kim down to the mat. Kim avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Goguryeo Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Walker.
Kim tries to clinch there but Walker circles away.
Kim lunges at Walker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Walker's hand.


Walker is rocked!
Kim lands a nice shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Walker takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kim changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Walker takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Kim throws a leg kick which misses Walker's front leg but catches the back leg as Walker tries to avoid it.
Kim misses the shot to the body.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kim leaves Walker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kim with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Walker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kim counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kim throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
The crowd cheers as Kim lands an impressive looking overhand right. Walker doesn't seem phased though.
Walker is still on wobbly legs! Can Kim finish him?
Kim connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Walker to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Kim!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Goguryeo Kim!
