Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clifford Val Salvacion (ranked 23114 p4p, 25198 weight class) and Xi Daerji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 33 - 82 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clifford Val Salvacion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salvacion blocks a head kick by Daerji.
Daerji shoots for a takedown but Salvacion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Daerji has Salvacion up against the cage in a clinch.
Salvacion keeps control of Daerji as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Daerji tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Daerji wants a takedown but no success here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daerji avoiding damage.
A frustrated look appears on Daerji's face as he tries to break the clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Daerji throws an elbow but misses.

Salvacion tries for a takedown but Daerji manages to get underhooks.
Salvacion tries to score a body lock takedown but Daerji shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Daerji is defending well against a takedown attempt. Nice work there by Salvacion! Salvacion has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Daerji wants to get back to his feet but Salvacion passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Daerji is staying active underneath Salvacion, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Daerji wants to get back to full guard. Salvacion is taking a breather. Daerji says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Daerji holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Xi Daerji will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Daerji tries a head kick but it misses.
Salvacion is looking to counter with a body kick. Daerji tries to clinch and Salvacion counters with a flying knee. Nice. Daerji shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Daerji was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Salvacion stops Daerji from passing to mount. Salvacion seems a little lost for a moment, as Daerji dominates the positioning. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daerji is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Salvacion has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daerji controls the position. Salvacion managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Daerji.
Daerji is trying to get an arm triangle but Salvacion is defending well. An elbow from Daerji crashes against the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Daerji tries for a kimura but Salvacion is defending well. Daerji tries to move into full mount but can't pass Salvacion's legs. Daerji tries to score with some ground and pound. Salvacion controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Xi Daerji is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Salvacion avoids the head kick by Daerji.
Salvacion throws a quick counter kick to the body but Daerji avoids it. Daerji has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daerji throws a right and a left that both miss. Salvacion jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Daerji wants to clinch but Salvacion slips to the side and Salvacion counters with a body kick that stops Daerji in his tracks momentarily. Daerji shoots and misses and Salvacion counters with a body kick that stops Daerji in his tracks momentarily. Daerji clinches up against the cage. Salvacion working hard to break the clinch. Daerji pulls Salvacion into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Daerji has his foot on Salvacion's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Salvacion works his way back into a safe position though. Daerji trying to control the position here. Daerji is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Salvacion dives into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Daerji tries to improve position but can't. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Xi Daerji showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Daerji misses with a wild body shot. Daerji looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Salvacion is fending him off so far but Daerji persists. Nope, Salvacion circles away and we're back to standing. Salvacion is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Daerji takes the fight into the clinch. Daerji is trying to break free. Daerji pulls guard successfully.

Daerji's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Daerji wants to get back to his feet but Salvacion is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Daerji gets in close and instigates a clinch. Daerji gets underhooks to prevent Salvacion's takedown attempt.
Salvacion keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Daerji's efforts to push away. Daerji manages to pull guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Salvacion wants to control from the top but Daerji keeps moving. Daerji is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Daerji throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Daerji escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salvacion gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Daerji darts in looking for a takedown but Salvacion gets double underhooks and turns Daerji into the cage. Daerji shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Clifford Val Salvacion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xi Daerji. Daerji takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Daerji fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Daerji has a takedown stuffed. Salvacion throws a quick counter kick to the body but Daerji avoids it. Clifford Val Salvacion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Daerji shoots in looking for a takedown. Salvacion tries to sprawl out of it but Daerji keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salvacion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that's the end of the fight! Xi Daerji comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Daerji winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
