Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Raja Guru (ranked 1087 p4p, 1928 weight class) and Delbert Mazzariello (ranked 107 p4p, 176 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Delbert Mazzariello!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazzariello lands with a nice body punch.
Mazzariello moves into range and connects with a jab.
Guru connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Mazzariello avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mazzariello throws a leg kick but Guru checks it.
A counter left hand to the body from Guru misses its target.

Guru appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Guru buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mazzariello looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Guru seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mazzariello ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Guru moves away.

Delbert Mazzariello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mazzariello comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Raja Guru is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mazzariello throws a leg kick but Guru sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Guru swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Mazzariello lands a glancing blow to the side of Guru's head.

Guru takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Mazzariello dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Mazzariello scores with a one two! Guru had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been told by Guru's head coaches at Casa Steel that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mazzariello throws a leg kick but Guru sees it coming and checks it nicely.
