This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Jake Everett! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Yakami Sansho!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Everett circles away from the clinch attempt.
Everett half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Everett is pressed up against the ropes. Sansho has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Everett down to the mat. Everett avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Everett closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sansho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Everett with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Everett has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sansho's body.
Everett is hanging on to Sansho's back as he tries to escape.

Sansho wants to control his opponent's hands but Everett gets his hands free.
Everett controlling well, preventing Sansho from escaping the position.

Everett looking to break Sansho's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sansho remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Everett will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Everett is persistently looking for the submission but Sansho is defending it well.
Sansho tries to escape but Everett has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Everett is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sansho has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Sansho tries to roll but Everett sticks to his back.

Everett is working for a rear naked choke. Sansho is not defending it well and Everett has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Sansho refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Sansho's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
