This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Edward Krause! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Ryobi Sansho!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Sansho has managed to clinch.
Krause tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sansho smiles and moves away.

Sansho rushes Krause and presses him up against the ropes.
Krause goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sansho prevents it.
Krause tries to pull guard but Sansho won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Krause. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sansho has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Krause uses from the top position.

Krause takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sansho tries to lock up and control but Krause gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sansho can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sansho is looking for a sweep. Krause is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sansho regains full guard. Nicely done.

Sansho isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Krause stacks Sansho on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Krause!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Krause doesn't have the hooks in and Sansho manages to turn into his guard.

Sansho drops back, looking for a kneebar! Krause looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Krause looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Krause!

Sansho is not content to let Krause control the position.
Sansho is looking for a sweep.

Sansho is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Krause's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Krause's back!
