Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gigi Woerner!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Axmed Abdullah !
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woerner pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Woerner throws a front kick aimed at Abdullah 's knee but Abdullah avoids it well.
Abdullah drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Woerner defends it well.
A big right from Woerner misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Abdullah misses the target.
Woerner scores with a hook.
Woerner throws a body punch but Abdullah moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Abdullah has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Woerner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Woerner cracks Abdullah with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Woerner throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Woerner has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Canucks Combat Club in the buildup to the fight.
Woerner throws a good cross that connects.
Woerner throws a head kick that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Woerner ducks under a wild hook from Abdullah .
Woerner misses with a low kick.
Woerner scores with a nice strike.

Woerner throws a leg kick which misses Abdullah 's front leg but catches the back leg as Abdullah tries to avoid it.
Woerner drops Abdullah with a straight right hand, right on the button! Woerner follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gigi Woerner!

Gigi Woerner really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Conviction logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
