Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Boris (ranked 1959 p4p, 2054 weight class) and Geronimo Lindeman (ranked 248 p4p, 264 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Boris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Geronimo Lindeman!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boris shoots in looking for a takedown. Lindeman tries to sprawl out of it but Boris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lindeman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
It seemed like Lindeman was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lindeman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like John Boris has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Lindeman 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lindeman was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Lindeman bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lindeman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boris circles away quickly and effectively.
Lindeman tries to clinch up but Boris circles away and keeps his distance.

Good work by Boris as he checks the leg kick.
Boris feinted with a counter takedown.
Lindeman looks to land a left hand but Boris moved out of range nicely.
Boris tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lindeman was well out of range. Poor timing from Boris.
Boris swings for the body but Lindeman moves out of range.
Boris comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Boris throws a hook to the side of Lindeman's head but Lindeman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lindeman looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Lindeman throws a nice looking combination but Boris bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Lindeman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Boris connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Boris scores with the left hand. Lindeman knows he should have avoided that one.
Lindeman swings for the body but Boris moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Boris feints and as Lindeman raises his hands in defense, Boris changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lindeman wants to stand but Boris is controlling the position.

Boris prevents Lindeman from getting back to his feet.

Boris is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lindeman keeping moving, preventing Boris from controlling successfully.
Boris won't allow Lindeman to get back to his feet.
Boris looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Lindeman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boris is controlling him.

Boris drops back looking for a leg! Lindeman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lindeman manages to kick Boris off! Boris jumps back into Lindeman's guard.
Boris tries to free his leg and advance position but Lindeman is retaining full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lindeman wants to stand up but Boris is controlling him.
Boris landing with the ground and pound.
Boris advances to half guard.
Lindeman is trying to stand.

Boris is working for a submission of some sort.
Boris throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Boris is looking to take a break and control but Lindeman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boris stops Lindeman from getting back to his feet.
Boris is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Boris is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lindeman sees it coming and defends easily.
Lindeman felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Lindeman is trying to stand back up but Boris is controlling him
Well, if Boris is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lindeman pushes Boris off looking to stand but Boris dives back in and keeps control.
Boris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lindeman keeps working.
Boris tries to pass to full mount but Lindeman defends it.
Lindeman wants to get back to his feet.
Boris missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Lindeman is trying to stand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boris stuns Lindeman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Boris or perhaps it was just good defense by Lindeman, which made it look bad.

Lindeman takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Boris jabs Lindeman right on the nose. Lindeman blinks but takes it well.
Boris connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Geronimo Lindeman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Boris lands a slapping body shot.
Boris misses with a hook
and Lindeman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Boris thinking.
Boris cracks Lindeman with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Boris uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lindeman.
Lindeman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boris bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lindeman's head.
Lindeman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boris blocks a head kick by Lindeman.

Boris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lindeman quickly recovers to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lindeman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Boris is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Boris stops Lindeman from getting back to his feet.

Lindeman tries to kick Boris off but Boris keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Boris drops an elbow to the side of Lindeman's head.
Lindeman pushes Boris off looking to stand but Boris dives back in and keeps control.
Boris not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Lindeman is looking to escape.
Boris seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lindeman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Boris quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Boris but it's paid off an Lindeman is forced to tap! Nice work by Boris.
