Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nykolai Kersikov (ranked 261 p4p, 1438 weight class) and Jaro Key (ranked 24 p4p, 135 weight class). Kersikov comes to the cage accompanied by Frequencerz & Da Tweekaz - Full Control. The crowd seem to be enjoying Key's choice of entrance music: HonestKey- The Unseen. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Nykolai Kersikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaro Key! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Key misses with a wild body shot. Key tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kersikov was well out of range. Poor timing from Key. An attempted straight right counter from Kersikov misses the target. Key takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Kersikov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kersikov closes the distance and clinches up with Key, looking for a takedown. Kersikov pushes Key against the cage but Key circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kersikov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Key. Key ducks right into an uppercut from Kersikov. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Key throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Key has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Key misses with a looping right. Key avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Key is trying to control the position but Kersikov postures up. Kersikov is looking to work some ground and pound but Key has wrist control. Kersikov tries to free his leg and advance position but Key is retaining full guard. Key is looking for a triangle but Kersikov pushes his legs off easily.

Kersikov defends it easily. Key can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kersikov controls the pace. Key has his foot on Kersikov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kersikov works his way back into a safe position though. Kersikov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kersikov trying to control the position from guard on top but Key is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Key lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Kersikov looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Key puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Key is looking to take a break and control but Kersikov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kersikov is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Key tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kersikov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Key keeps trying to improve his position. Kersikov controls the position from side control. Key is trying to control Kersikov's posture but Kersikov avoids it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kersikov lands a few punches from side control. Kersikov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Key to see if he's OK. That's two minutes gone in the round. Kersikov is looking to take a break and control but Key is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kersikov lands a nice short elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kersikov winds up and cracks Key with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Key is not content to let Kersikov control the position. Key taking some punishment here, with Kersikov in his half guard. Kersikov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Key can do to turn this around? Key misses with a left hand and Kersikov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kersikov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
