Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Pena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins comes to the cage accompanied by Hungry Like The Wolf. Pena has chosen I Need You as his entrance music. Ryan Pena is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Pena!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins swats away the attempt to clinch by Pena.
Pena tries to clinch up but Jenkins circles away and keeps his distance.

Jenkins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pena jumps guard.
Jenkins passes easily into side control. Nice work.
A lull in the action here as Jenkins stalls from top position.
Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pena keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Pena's face as Jenkins controls the position.
Pena is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jenkins is controlling him well.
Jenkins is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pena's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jenkins trying to control the position but Pena is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jenkins is trying to get an arm triangle but Pena is defending well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Jenkins working away.
Pena is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jenkins's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Jenkins decides to stand up.
Pena tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jenkins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pena shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jenkins pinned against the cage. Jenkins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pena plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins closes the distance looking to clinch
and Pena counters with an outside leg kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pena.
Pena tries to stand but Jenkins is controlling his head.
Jenkins sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Pena seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Pena looks gassed!
Pena is trying to control. Jenkins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jenkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pena's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pena's back!
Pena looking very determined here, making life difficult for Jenkins.
Pena trying to control the hands but Jenkins won't let him.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jim Jenkins just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Pena pushes Jenkins up against the cage in a clinch.
Pena lands a nice knee to the body.

Pena decides to pull guard.
Pena thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Pena is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins controlling from the top position.
Pena keeping moving, preventing Jenkins from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Pena dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jenkins clinches but Pena breaks the clinch
and Pena counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jenkins closes the distance but Pena moves to the side

and Pena counters by moving into the clinch.

Pena's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pena tries to clinch but Jenkins moves out of range.
Jim Jenkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pena fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ryan Pena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jenkins looks to throw a body kick

and Pena counters with a shoot takedown. Jenkins fights it but they end up in guard.
Jenkins looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pena puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Jenkins is looking for a sweep. Pena is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jenkins is working hard here to advance position.

Pena shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jenkins's guard.

Jenkins is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Pena thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pena won't allow Jenkins to sweep him here.
Jenkins controls Pena momentarily but Pena frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jenkins tries to keep at a distance but Pena has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jenkins prevents the takedown attempt.
Jenkins is working for takedown but Pena is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jenkins jumps guard but Pena stands there with Jenkins around his waist. Jenkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Pena pulls Jenkins into guard.

Pena escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jenkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jenkins's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jenkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Pena is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jenkins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pena is keeping the position for now.
Jenkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pena wants to sweep here but Jenkins controlling him for the moment.

Ryan Pena showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pena goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Pena counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Jenkins tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Pena trying to pass the guard but Jenkins defending well.
Jenkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pena is working away from the top position though.

Pena tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jenkins knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Pena is trying to control. Jenkins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jenkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pena is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jenkins tries for a takedown but Pena circles away easily

and Pena counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pena.
Jenkins tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Pena scores a nice knee to the body.
Pena lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Pena is pressed up against the cage. Jenkins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pena down to the mat. Pena avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jenkins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pena avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jenkins is trying to drag Pena to the mat but Pena just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jenkins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pena pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Pena tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Pena has closed the distance and engaged Jenkins in a clinch.

Pena tries to clinch but Jenkins is having none of it.

Pena pushes Jenkins up against the cage in a clinch.
Pena using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jenkins has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jim Jenkins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Pena breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jenkins is holding on to half guard well.
Ryan Pena is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ryan Pena comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pena has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
